Four Ways to Reuse Your Leftover Loofah Sponge

Happy Earth Day!

We’re always looking for ways to be a better human being (more socially and environmentally conscious, more responsible, more accountable) in our every day lives ✨ After all, it’s the little things that we do in our lives that end up making a big difference in the whole grand scheme of things ✨

In this blog, we're sharing with you 4 ways you can reuse and upcycle your leftover loofah sponge from your Exfoliating Loofah Soap.

First off, what is Exfoliating Loofah Soap? It is a 2-in-1 cleansing and exfoliating scrubby soap bar! We created Exfoliating Loofah Soap with utility, efficacy, efficiency, and eco-consciousness in mind. It's 100% plastic-free, and it is an easy and effective way to incorporate cleansing and exfoliating into your daily showering rituals.

Made with love in small batches in our micro-factory in Southern California, the soap is made out of coconut oil and vegetable glycerin, making it nourishing and moisturizing for the skin barrier. We incorporate a slice of plant-based loofah sponge that is dried and peeled from gourd plants. Once you finish all the soap in this soap bar, you're left with a loofah sponge that you can either compost, or use to scrub all the things! Keep reading for some ideas.

Here are four ways you can reuse your leftover loofah sponge to extend its life in your home:

1. Use it for body wash.

We know that even though you love your bar soaps, you still like having some sort of body wash on deck. This is where your leftover loofah sponge comes in handy! Use it to continue exfoliating and cleansing during your shower rituals.

2. Use it for dry brushing

Dry brushing helps detoxify your skin by increasing blood circulation and promoting lymphatic drainage. Let your leftover loofah sponge dry, and use it in your next dry brushing ritual. Brush outwards and downwards in short strokes on your legs and arms for an extra detoxifying glow.

3. Use it to scrub your sinks, showers, and bathtubs

These leftover loofah sponges come in so handy as a household scrubber. Try using it to scrub the gunk build-up in your sinks, showers, and bathtubs.

4. Use it to scrub laundry stains

Laundry stains? No worries. Put a little bit of laundry detergent or soap on your leftover loofah sponge, and use it to scrub away laundry stains. This is especially helpful during menstrual season when undies get stained.

There we go! We love finding creative ways to extend the life of our belongings. What are some ways that you use your leftover loofah sponges? Let us know!

Happy Earth Day 💚

With Love,

Team Honey Belle
